Holman rigging as recently acquired the sales and manufacturing
rights to this popular product originally designed and manufactured
by Jack Holt Limited.
Chris Holman knows the system well as he worked with Jack Holt for
many years prior to starting his own business.
The
Luffspar is designed as a low cost unit for day sailors and small
cruisers, which have a maximum luff length of 5460 mm (17’11’’).
Only one headsail is required using this system, as the genoa can be
furled progressively as the wind speed increases. From the safety of
your cockpit you can shorten sail simply by pulling on the furling
line.
When docking or approaching moorings the ability to furl the
headsail aids manoeuvring as well as ensuring good visibility and a
clear deck.

Luffspars can be trimmed down to suit each boats luff length
requirements.
Headsails must be fitted with a luff rope as on a mainsail.
The unit rotates around the forestay which can be supplied and
fitted if length is advised.
Luffspars are available with sheave at top, as illustrated, or with
a riveted eye to lash or shackle the head of the sail. |
